doesn’t work as advertised.

Wasnt sure how this would work but it exceeds my expectations! I have a 3 bedroom house and this app detects doors opening downstairs. Would be useful to have video capability at some point, but otherwise very well thought out.

I saw this app and thought it looked kind of fun, especially to experiment with the settings and see if I could get it working at my own house. It was cool to play with the "detector" settings by slamming doors, shutting windows, and making loud noises to see what triggered the alarm based on where my computer is located in my house. It was cool to see that after I played with it, it actually worked and sent me a notification email when I got the settings just right! Since it just came out, I want to play with it and see if I can test it out to see if it will work as a fully functional alarm system. I dont currently shell out anything for ADT, but I would like some home security, and if this really does the job, then it will definitely be worth the price!

The app seems to crash after multiple alerts. I set it up to email me when my dog barks after I leave the house. After 10+ alerts I dont seem to get anymore until I get home and force quite the app.

This simple alarm system is easy to calibrate for the sounds in my house and I like the fact that when an alarm is triggered, I get sent an email with the sound that set off the alarm, so I can decide if I want to alert the authorities or not. Ive used an alarm service before and gotten a lot of false alarms and have never known what set them off (my pets? the wind rattling the blinds on open upstairs windows?), so Ive ended up not really using the expensive alarm service. This way, I can know exactly whats happening when Im away. I love it!

This app is alright. I left it on at home to see if my dog was barking while I was at work and it e-mailed me every time there was a noise. Unfortunately, it didnt attach any audio files to the e-mails so I wasnt sure what the noises actually were. I even tested with various settings configurations after I got home, but it still wont attach audio files. Since this is a new feature, Im sure it will be worked out in the future.

Bottom line, if you havent purchased this app yet you need to!!!!!! I have a few laptops sitting around my house and this app has put them to great use. Since I dont need them all when I am gone they serve as my home security netowrk. I have this app running on two laptops, one at either end of my house. That way all of my entry ways are coverd. This app is great for its ease of use, simplicity and for all of the features that is has. Specifically, I love to have the audio recording sent to my iPhone so that I can easily tell if I need to call the cops or if one of my pets knocked over a plant. I like the calibration tab so that I can do a few noise tests to determine what level I need to set the threshold at so that I dont have to deal with many false alarms. I hope this developer continues to add new features to make this app even better. Thanks!

This neat little app does exactly what it says. The only thing was that I noticed the alarm shut off without Dropbox installed but when I added Dropbox it worked like a charm...

Ive been playing around with this app for a few days now and it takes a little while to tinker with the settings to get the performance of the alarm set with the sounds in my house, but it is definitely worth the effort! I have no problems getting the email alerts with the sound files (very cool) and I use Dropbox to view the movies from my computers camera. Some of the sound files are really entertaining - like my dog barking (need to tweak the calibration a bit more for that), but its cool to be able to hear the sounds of what is triggering the alarm. This is a fun and useful app.

I had originally written a poorer review for this app when some features were not working as they should, but I am updating it to let everyone know that the developer is very responsive to sorting out problems if you let him know whats going on. It now works exactly as it should for me, and is a great app.

I love the idea of this application and how it works with my iphone but it crashes all the time. When an alarm goes off it crashes and I have to force quit. Even if its the only program running it still crashes. can we get an update to fix this?

Were using SecureHome to monitor our smoke detectors while were away. We have five cats and worry that they would not be able to get out of the house if there is a fire. This way we get notified if the smoke detector is alarming and can call our neighbor to make sure the cats get out. The app works great! And the iPhone app allows us to monitor alarms from anywhere. There was a small bug using the iPhone app, but Steve corrected this within two days of me notifying him and put an update on the App Store. Great service!

set up and calibrate quite easily. however, when i attempt to test it, it crashes.

Doesn’t work. Guess people are super used to making an applicaiton but never updating it. So, don’t DL this application unless you like waisting 5 dollars.
